Litigation money
LITIGATION MONEY
Spend judicial proceeding income on tobacco control -- and save youngsters lives
As the Massachusetts Legislature determines how to spend nearly $8 billion from the tobacco settlement, it's being demanded to count proposals that disregard the primary mission of the lawsuit. When the attorney general's office charged suit in 1995, the destination was to defeat decades of public deception by the tobacco manufacture. Whenever we don't spend a important part of the settlement income on tobacco control plans, we will have gave up that ideal and lost a historical chance to save lives.
